Lex Benson-Cooper is a contemporary NZ artist.He was born in 1953 in Auckland, but now lives in Napier with his wife Margit.He trained at EIT in Hawkes Bay, but he taught himself a lot! Some of his paintings are Still Lives & Quater Acre Dream.
Lex is now 57 and is still painting beautiful art. His main idea is for his art is to always have a centre piece, he includes a lot of shading in his art, and each brush stroke is a different shade. His style is mix of expressionism and modernism.
Lex and his wife Margit are both environmentally aware and created the Benson- Cooper sustainability award.
